WebJun 20, 2015 · Short answer: Yes you can bring a midi file into an editor (that supports midi) and edit it. Longer version: MIDI has 16 channels. (today we'd call them tracks) A MIDI file COULD have a track for drums, one for percussion, one for guitar, etc. A MIDI file is not audio like a MP3 or WAV, it contains information that tells a synth what notes to play.
