We have previously reported the unique expression of another SLRP, fibromodulin (FMOD) in the leukemic cells of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). WebOpticin is a member of the extracellular matrix small leucine-rich repeat protein/proteoglycan (SLRP) family that was first identified in vitreous humour and subsequently in cartilage [1,2]. There are 18 members of the SLRP family which have been divided into 5 classes based upon phylogeny [3].
