WebJul 15, 2012 · Same thing just happened to my buddys Wide Glide, almost every time he hit 60-65 mph it would go into death wobble mode, right around 70 mph it would calm down. What it ended up being was a crappy job aligning the rear tire after a tire change and the front suspension was (fork oil) was way off. WebI’ve read that the wobble can be caused by differences in the rear shocks and that increasing preload can help. I’m 6’ 275 and have never experienced the wobble on my Wide Glide in 5 years and 10k miles, but the first thing I did was to max out the preload since it was bottoming out constantly on the glorious Oklahoma roads.
