WebAug 3, 2024 · My fan was constantly running, which happened after I went into the bios and restored to "Factory Settings". The issue is not the fan which is working as intended I think. Somehow after restoring factory settings in the bios the laptop is running ~20 degrees hotter while idle! How to fix? Solved! WebFeb 12, 2015 · I was able to stop the fan by disabling two new services that were installed. Go into the Administrative Tools and get into the Services. With basic internet browsing and MS Word editing, the fans sound as though they are at 100%. Opening Task Manager showed McAfee CPU usage upward to 20%.
