WebCataract surgery is the most common intraocular operation and is most often performed under local anaesthesia (LA) [ 1 ]. LA options include topical anaesthesia, retrobulbar, peribulbar, and sub-Tenon’s space blocks [ 2 ]. They are preferred to general anaesthesia in the elderly population due to medical co-morbidities.
